Mercy kickstarted her journalism career in 2012 working in both print and TV at NTV Kenya, and interviewing a range of renown persons including former UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and winning several local and international awards for her print features and TV documentaries. She moved to the BBC in 2017 and is based in the Nairobi office where she focuses on an array of topics that include but are not exclusive to politics, health, environment, gender, peace, terrorism and human security.
